The Cottages* on State Street

 

I am pleased to make my recently upgraded 100+ year old Victorian style home available to you, your friends and family as you vacation in our area.

 

The property is located in the Old Neighborhood of St. Joe. You can sit on the porch and get a glimpse of Lake Michigan. A 10 second (yes, second!) walk gets you to a clearing on the bluff from which you can sit and watch the lake and the glorious sunsets that it produces. Take your glass of wine with you and enjoy!

 

The property is about a 10 min walk from downtown shopping & dining and about a15 min walk  from Silver Beach. If you need to drive, thereÕs reasonable parking space wherever you need to be.

 

The property is a 7 minute drive from the new Jack Nicklaus designed golf course at the Harbor Shores development as well.

 

There are 2 ÔcottagesÕ on the property, both of which have many charming attributes, many of which are recent improvements including: original hardwood floors restored, higher ceilings, remodeled colorful kitchen, cheery colored bedrooms. Both are wonderfully decorated with custom painted furniture, wicker, bright colors and tasteful dŽcor.

 

* yes IÕm aware that this is not really 2 cottages, but once you see how cutely decorated and charming the apartments are, you might forgive my semantics.

Included in your rental are all the essentials for a comfortable stay including:

¬     all common cook/dinnerware

¬     coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishwasher

¬     clean linens for all beds

¬     TV/DVD player, cable TV

¬     window AC unit(s)

¬     offstreet parking for up to 2 vehicles

 

Additional onsite amenities include:

¬     washer & dryer

¬     additional offstreet  parking as needed

¬     high speed WIFI internet access

¬     newer gas grill on porch

 

Additional offsite amenities:

á      access to a local pool (in season as available to property owner)

á       discounted rates on daytrips out on the houseboat  (if available)

 

Pet Policy Ð Up to 2 dogs or cats or combo are allowed per unit.  A $35 pet charge will be assessed for any rental term (wknd, week, month or multi-month

 

Smoking Policy Ð Smoking is not permitted inside the property. Thanks for your understanding & compliance.

** includes basic cable, hi-speed WIFI, and EITHER gas or electric depending on the month. Tenant to pay the remaining utility (gas or electric) retained from deposit or charged to credit card exactly as billed to property owner.

 

All rates are for up to 4 people. Additional fees apply per additional person depending on the term. (e.g. 1 additonal person per week in summer = $35)

Making a Reservation

 

To make a reservation, confirm availability by calling or emailing. Review the current agreement, call or email with questions and a credit card against which at least 50% of the rental fees will immediately be charged. It is necessary that we both sign a rental agreement before occupancy will be extended. If time allows, a filled out rental agreement will be sent to you which you will need to sign and return. Otherwise, you will be expected to sign an applicable copy at the time of your arrival.

 

The remainder of all expected fees is due no less than 30 days prior to your stay.  Unless you make other arrangements, the credit card that was used for your initial payment will be kept on file and charged the remainder of the fees due. You will always be issued an email receipt for credit card transactions.

Upper Unit Details

The upper unit has:

á      2 bedrooms Ð 1 with a queen bed, the other has a double and a twin

á      living room with 2 standard sofas

á      eat-in kitchen with counter & stools looking through to living room

á      bigger bathroom with whirlpool tub

á      sunny breakfast nook just outside the entry to your private space

Lower Unit Details

The lower unit includes:

á      2 bedrooms (1 with a queen bed, the other with a twin day bed with addÕtl pullout twin trundle accommodating 2 singles or a couple when the 2 twin beds are combined)

á      smaller full bath

á      large combined living and dining room

á      non-eatin kitchen

á       the porch off the front is most easily accessed from this unit as well though it is not exclusively for lower unit guests
